Meet Abby Martin, a sweet small-town girl who recently graduated from culinary school and moved to the big city of Bridgeport for a new job as a kitchen scullion at a very hot restaurant. Abby is adventurous, brave, friendly, and a natural cook with star quality. Her life's dream is to be a seasoned traveler. She wants to see the world. Abby has never been to Bridgeport and knows nobody there but a friend of a friend of a friend has a friend with an empty couch that Abby can borrow until she gets settled. Abby trusts her friend's friend's friend but she can't decide what to think about her new roommate, Vladimir. He's...different.
The apartment is great! It's right downtown in the middle of the action and not far from work.
Turns out that Abby doesn't have to sleep on the couch after all. He has..."other"...sleeping arrangements. Whatever floats your boat, Vlad.
Abby & Vladimir get along well enough. Mostly they stay out of each others' way. She can't quite put a finger on it, but she just doesn't feel real comfortable with him. He's cold and distant. A little odd.
Soon Abby found a place of her own. It isn't nearly as nice as Vlad's but she was able to relax much better and just feel so much more at home in her teensy studio even if she was completely penniless for awhile. She lived on waffles.
The library is a great place to study or play on the computer--and it's FREE! It's also the ideal location for watching and meeting the local cast of characters!
Abby loves to poke around in the shops and daydream about how great life will be when she is successful and can actually buy things.
There's a lot for this small-town gal to take in!
Bridgeport has many fun things to do, including several watering holes that attract the local glitterati. Abby put on her "fancy dress" and struck out to meet her friend, Odine, at what Odine insists is the "hottest" spot in town, Plasma 501. She promises that Abby will meet celebrities. Abby desperately need a raise so that she can shop! She feels like such a hick next to the city folk! Odine never showed. Somehow Abby managed to walk right past the bouncer without even stopping.
Can that be Rene Littler?
Yes, it can. Abby got an autograph but she was so disappointed. Renee seems so nice on TV!
A friendly face! It's Alexy Fresco from work! He's always nice and Abby hangs out with him. She's been lonely since she got to town. After a couple of Spine Reticulators she finds herself crying on Alexy's shoulder.
She must have misunderstood his intentions because next she was crying because of him.
He was sorry and he apologized.
Boy, did he apologize.
Must've been some good stuff. Abby strutted all the way home!
